Imagine waking up on a cool summer morning, stepping outside onto the dock and seeing the smooth glassy surface that is Buckeye Lake -- before any boats have touched it.  Now imagine being the first one out there, slicing through the water with your jet ski, and excited about the festivities this weekend has in store.

Buckeye Lake is a man-made lake in Southeastern Ohio that is Ohio’s largest state park.  It was originally built as a canal feeder in 1826, and is now host to many Ohioans’ second homes and vacation spots.  The Buckeye Lake Yacht Club sits over the lake, standing as the most prominent structure in the community.  And it is the most important place during the weekend of August 20-22, for the 31st Annual Antique & Classic Boat Regatta.  Any kind of boat is welcome to float up, where it will sit on display at the yacht club’s protected docks., Bring any watercraft you have to show off, and enjoy seeing the other amazing boats on display.

This event is a highlight of the Buckeye Lake summer season, and brings in people of all ages. Several special awards will be given to the participants with the most phenomenal showing, but if you are only interested in being an observer, the yacht club’s restaurants and grills will be serving food and available for your pleasure throughout the weekend.

Once you’ve lathered up the sunscreen, packed the boat for the day and are too tired from skiing all day, head on over to the Antique & Classic Boat Regatta for a little treat you can’t get anywhere else.
